Whose Crucifixion?

Today’s reflection from The Visual Commentary on Scripture is well worth taking in, here. Its focus is the mixed media art of Igael Tumarkin and his Bedouin Crucifixions. These speak of the plight of the nomadic desert people of Israel-Palestine and their fate in a country apparently unsympathetic to their way of life.

As you reflect upon this image, here is some wonderful music by Victoria from his Tenebrae Responses, O Vos Omnes:

O all you who walk by on the road, pay attention and see:
if there be any sorrow like my sorrow.

Pay attention, all people, and look at my sorrow:
if there be any sorrow like my sorrow.
